Why I Stopped Using Rodan+Fields Lash Boost

Rodan+Fields Lash Boost has some weird side effects they DON’T list, including droopy eyelid syndrome. It happened to me.

Rodan Fields states: “The only serious side effects we have heard about are those associated with drug products, not cosmetics. ENHANCEMENTS Lash Boost is a cosmetic, and the ingredients have not been associated with any significant side effects. ” Do you know why they haven’t been associated with any significant side effects?

1. They did a tiny self conducted study to come to this conclusion and use carefully chosen language like “we heard about” instead of “you can expect” or any reassuring alternative.
2. They ignore reports like mine. Trust me, they’ve heard about it!

Isopropyl cloprostenate, the active ingredient in Lash Boost, is a synthetic form of the prostaglandin used in Latisse, which is known to cause ptosis and other side effects. Rodan Fields keeps saying that isopropyl cloprostenate is in a different FDA classification than the Latisse ingredient but can’t point me to any evidence. I can’t find anything on it except an expired FDA page where they had listed it as a drug, and links from 2011 like this one stating it IS a drug: http://www.cosmeticsandtoiletries.com/regulatory/claims/120476614.html

Regardless of whether it’s a drug, it has side effects that are completely ignored by Rodan Fields. Here is the link to the opthamology article I cited in the video:
