Bimatoprost/Latisse is now being tested on the scalp for hair growth. Allergan is currently in clinical trials for Latisse for the scalp. It also works well for eyebrows.

$3000.00 per eye seems a lot compared to scalp transplants. It’d be funny
to see those hairs grown long.

Latisse helps you grow your existing lashes better. Eyelash transplant is
used to increase the density of lashes by implanting new follicles
permanently into the eyelid.

Latisse helps eyelash follicles stay in their growth phase longer. This
would probably help with your premature shedding. Also, FYI, eyebrow hair
is typically too short to implant and orient the curl properly.

Is it really that serious? i can understand maybe someone who is lacking
eyelashes? As for those who are not i would be afraid the eyelashes would
grow to my lips and then someone might need a curling iron to curl them.
(just joking) LIGHTEN UP!

Transplanted eyelashes are living and growing. The transplanted lashes do
grow long, so you will need to trim them routinely. Any patient who is
considering an eyelash transplant needs to understand the need for
maintenance of the lashes. Trimming is not difficult, but is required.
During the implantation, the lashes are angled appropriately and WILL NOT
‘grow towards your eye’

Over the years there have been numerous products ‘claiming’ to grow
eyelashes. Stick with the fda-approved treatment, Latisse, for best
results. If the other product contains bimatoprost (the active ingredient
in Latisse) eventually they will get ‘in trouble’ with the FDA.

Lashes protect the eye from dust and debris, and besides, long lashes look
awesome!

The Latisse (bimatoprost) is the FDA-approved medication for eyelash
growth. 69% of patients see results in 12 wks, 78% of patients see results
in 16 wks. The latisse works on the lashes you have. If you have lash loss
or damage from eyelash extensions, you’ll need an eyelash transplant to
restore eyelashes to the lid. We have prescribed Latisse daily to our
patients with excellent success.

i don’t like the transplant thinggy.. very superficial. No use having the
transplant if u need to get it trimmed. I like to know more bout that
revitalash. Does it have side effects? Is it dangerous to the eye? How
about for those who don’t know hw to apply eyeliner, how will you explain
how to apply it? Furthermore, does the transplanted lashes adapt and grow
much slower as you trim it or the opposite?

Latisse is an excellent product. I’ve used it for about 7 months and I no
longer have to wear mascara.

@adreanmarie Actually, the eyelash transplant procedure is quite
comfortable for patients. The lids are numb from anesthetic cream. Most
patients just chill-out, relax or nap during the procedure. The lids are
sore for a few hours afterwards, that’s it.

@ColdPickles22 Your comment is not entirely accurate… it depends on how
curly/kinky your hair is. Some curl is actually a good thing when doing an
eyelash transplant. Very coarse, straight eyelash hair is actually more
difficult to manage because it’s difficult to curl. –Dr. Bauman

Not sure about Los Angeles area for eyelash transplants. I was a faculty
member at a Live Eyelash Transplant Surgery Workshop in Los Angeles a few
years back but most doctors who attended the lecture and observed surgery
were from overseas. –Dr. Bauman

@Sperry, The surgical risks of undergoing an eyelash transplant procedure
are going to be similar to a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) but there are
other questions you should ask and important things to know before
deciding. –Dr. B.
